October

OK, every photo in this post is reverse chronological order, and I'm too lazy (or maybe busy is a better word!) to fix it! October was busy and cold! The big girls LOVE to play in the leaves outside and most of the time it was too cold or wet to do that. The babies are growing so much! They both love to turn the pages of their favorite books. Their favorite is the 'Ladybug Book' because it has 3 dimensional ladybugs they can poke at. Nora learned to wave and loves to wave at herself in the mirror or window reflection! She giggles and gets the biggest kick out of it! She also likes to clap and pat when we sing songs. Stella is a momma's girl...she gets excited when Grandma or Oma come over, but then takes a while to warm up to them. She also cries when admirers approach her in the store, put their face right down in her car seat and say "HI! Aren't YOU CUTE!!!". It turns a perfectly content baby into a panic, and a perfectly smooth shopping trip into a fiasco. Stella started clapping on Halloween and now LOVES to clap all the time. They are also starting to say my name! When they wake up at night, or in the morning I hear "mamama". Or when I walk into the room they say "momma". SO CUTE!!!

September

In September we wasted no time getting to the State Fair on the 1st! Ingrid and Helen loved getting their faces painted, riding the merry-go-round and Helen even went down the Giant Slide with Daddy!
Other than that, we had fun FINALLY enjoying some REAL summer weather. We went swimming at Oma's pool several times and in our wading pool on the porch - the babies LOVED that! Nora and Stella were busy getting more teeth this month - they now have 4 each...the funny part is that they are all lower teeth. Normally babies get 2 bottom, followed by 2 top. Stella has really become a mama's girl. She buries her head in mom's neck when people approach, and if a stranger at the grocery store, bends over and smiles...watch out! She gets scared! They've been starting to eat finger food - 'puffs' - which are melt-in-your-mouth cheerios. Nora has NO interest in eating spoon food! She is always a mess at meal time! Stella at least eats most foods though! She grabs for EVERYTHING we are eating..including my cheese curd at the state fair!

August

August just flew by! We were so busy trying to enjoy the small bit of summer warmth that finally came our way! We went swimming at Ron and Donna’s pool and Aldona’s pool each a few times! The babies love to splash in the water, and don’t even seem to mind if its on the chilly side. This year, the girls could touch in the shallow end at Ron and Donna’s! Max and the Kutz family even joined us there once and the kids all had the greatest time! At first they were still timid and clung to their tubes and water wings, but by the end of the day, they were jumping in all by themselves!

The babies both got their first teeth this month – not even a week apart! Tthey really weren’t too terribly cranky about it! Nora also discovered she can roll from her back to her front…and does it all the time, every time she is laid down! Stella is so funny, at night she will cry for me occasionally, then when I come in the room, she immediately smiles and starts laughing excitedly! Nora also finally started opening her mouth to take a few bites of oatmeal. In the past I had to ‘trick’ her into sneaking it in her mouth! Uncle Felix also came by for a visit and brought the girls coins and a coin purse from the Philippines. I managed to keep track of the coin purses, but where the coins are now, is a mystery. We also had a baby shower for Melissa Syvanto...to our surprise, I was heading to meet her baby only a few weeks later - a whole month before her due date! Baby Naomi is doing great of course!

My kids are amazing, they like zucchini...and

and green beans and macaroni, and nerds.
